March 07

Toadstool's 3rd Anniversary!!!!

This was indeed THE best party we have had so far!!!!

The guest DJ certainly helped! Anton from The Commercial Hippies dished out extraordinarily great tunes with new ones thrown in!!!! He rocked the dance floor (which was packed)

The residents - Toad, Boris & Fungi-Psy'd and Rana did their usual top job with their spot on tunes and mixing skills keeping the mood well up there all night!

The place looked stunning and the dancers all looked as beautiful and colourful as ever. they worked their magic on the dancefloor and looked after the party people with fruit, ice pops and plenty of smiles!

Our warmest thanks go out to Tim for bringing his Guarana truffles to help those clean living of us to keep with the fast pace of the night (especially with that extra hour).

Also to Mike and Sally for their expert face and body painting - there were some real works of art going around all night............

The whole Toadstool crew worked really hard before, during and after to make it all happen smoothly. they are the best!!!!!

The biggest thanks go to you party goers who made the place buzz. To the guys who came from Festival Weather - you guys rock!!

So - we'll see you all next month, for more of the same!!!!!

A word from Boris ( resident DJ)

Wow! what a firkin blow out that was.
I just wanted to personally thank all of you people that came along to celebrate our birthday with us and made it one hell of a party. I have to say you guys rocked the place all night as we travelled through a vortex of psychedelic, non stop mayhem - (hardly had time for a breath).

You guys know we couldn't do all this without your continued support, you lot are awesome .

Special thanks of course go to those people who travel from far a field to come and 'av it with us - fair play.
Anton (Commercial Hippies) what can I say dude? Always, always, always nothing but top quality production every time we see you perform. Can't wait for the summer at the Glade. Keep on keepin on!
Big hugs Boris x

Here are some comments from party people -

Thank you SO MUCH Everyone at TOADSTOOL for a lovely night;
We felt SO AT HOME AND RELAXED, after a 200 mile drive, from Cambridge, special thanks ..to... just about everybody from the doorman - to Corky & Boris helping us get set up -Rich,- everybody, for being so friendly;-You've got it sussed you know. - make people feel welcome and at home, and everything else falls into place.

We were especially impressed by what a SHARED party it was,- everyone feeling a part of it;-and the music, Excellent, really flowing beautifully, practically seamless.
nackering but BRILLIANT! We'd love to paint again at a Toadstool night sometime
all the best
love

Well Corky & co - I'm still buzzing now! That has got to be one of the best clubbing nights I've ever experienced - music, atmosphere, people, environment (oh and my somewhat addled mental state icon_dizzy ) combined to make Toadstool's birthday party an extra special occasion....perfect in fact! The dancefloor was heaving till the end - and we all wanted more icon_clap icon_clap icon_clap

Thanks again Toadstool!
Shiva

Well it was worth getting up from my death bed..wow.. must have been the best Toadstool EVER!

Thanks To Festival Al (at very short notice) for giving me a lift over, and dropping me safely home....
It always amazes me that in a shit hole like Gloucester (I lived there for 10 years!) as soon as you walk through the door of the club you are enveloped in a cocoon of warmth and friendlyness. The bouncers are polite and friendly as they go about there duties..
A little nervous I spoke the magic words "festival weather rocks" and Bingo £5.00 to get in ..thanks Corky (Toadstool)
The club is small but very intimate, with the usual (I assume ) black walls! ...that is until Toadstool get in there and transform the place. beautiful UV hangings seem to hang from every wall...strange interesting things hang from the ceiling ...UV lights are liberally scattered ..the overall effect is amazing.
I was very excited about seeing so many Festival Weather's there. As the small but growing Stroud branch of FW we had Festival Al, Festival chooks, Parmaviolets, myself and Samual P Brochovich - his first time at Toadstool. We are arrived early, but the club was slowly filling up.
First Merlo and nologo arrived beautiful as ever, and then Ascidhouse, so good to see him.. I looked for Shiva and magic Karma could not see them..
Corky and the NatterJacks all looked great in their new baubled/pompom outfits . Great to see Purplefaery again.

Thanks for the ice lollies and the cool cool melon.
Finaly Shiva resplendant in her part frock and Magic Karma arrived..hurray ..PARTY BALLOONS!!!
As usual the music was spot on...even in my poorly state it I was soon bopping my purple trousers off..

All the Toadstool DJs just seem to get better and better. They seem to be able to lift you up into those higher places and just before you think your head is going to explode they drop you down and then build you up again fantastic!

The Commercial Hippies carried on the magical journey...
As usual is was a fantasticly beautiful, night, the club was full, the people were great..I m sure it must be one of the friendliest clubs in the area...
..thanks eveyone you made it a very special night for me....

Zenecho

What a night it was!!!! I have never been anywhere where the music, atmosphere and chemical assistance came together so amazingly well. It's one night I will always struggle to remember but will never forget!!!!

A big thank you to all the Toadstool guys- I remember the humble beginnings at the Royal Well pub in Cheltenham like they were yesterday, and have enjoyed every one that I've been to ever since. Every single time I've said that each one has been better than the last, but the 3rd Birthday tore the roof off and then some!!!!

For those of you that don't know, Toadstool has some of the best psy DJ's you'll ever hear outside of The Glade, and the effort put in to decorate the club and make everyone feel relaxed by the Toadstool crew is amazing.
